How to get involved in fencing

Advice on how to get started

A large number of clubs exist, run as evening classes or organized within sports centers, youth clubs, schools and colleges.

The local sports center should be able to help with any initial enquiry, or the local community center's own leisure department should know of any nearby clubs.

Most clubs are affiliated to the United States Fencing Association who are a useful source of information and contacts.

It is relatively inexpensive to get started, with most clubs charging a membership fee which normally includes the cost of tuition and rent of equipment.

The United States Fencing Association’s website includes a list of clubs all over the country.
