The Wye Valley in South Wales

Unmissable beauty spots in the UK

The Wye Valley offers some of the most spectacular and unspoiled scenery to be enjoyed in the UK. Here, you can enjoy riverside walks and bike rides, kayaking or canoeing on the river, or rock climbing on the valley’s limestone cliffs.
There is so much to see and do in the tranquil setting of the Wye Valley, and all of your activities will be set in stunning surroundings far away from the crowds of people who swarm to the nearby Brecon Beacons. The Wye Valley’s diverse landscape and wildlife can be enjoyed at any time of year, but it’s particularly stunning to see in the autumn when the trees adopt a breathtaking range of colours.

The multi-activity centre at Symonds-Yat offers the perfect base from which to explore the area on foot, mountain bike, horseback, or in a kayak. You can hire equipment and/or instructors from here for a wide range of activities.

There are many delightful and picturesque villages tucked away in the Wye Valley – all of which offer a warm welcome and superb food and accommodation. A favourite destination is the Saracen’s Head pub – where you can soak up the stunning riverside views in the heart of this wonderful valley while you enjoy a fantastic meal!
