Hi my names Dan, I want to start a new training program and stick at it! Ive tried training before but become bored easily and give up.  Im hopefully going to uni in september and want to be my ideal weight.  Does anyone have any tips on keeping myself motivated?

    Thanks Dan

    • SuperCaz 'Variety. Doing the same thing every day does get boring and you will give up however hard you try. Instead aim to do a variety of activities, then when you get bored of one you can move onto the next one. I go through phases of gym work, Tai Chi, classes (lots of different types), swimming and of course running. Also try setting yourself targets. It is best to set yourself small regular targets rather than one big target because it is easier to see your progress. With running, for example, how about aiming to run to the end of the street within a month, then up to 5k by the end of the second month etc. Obviously tailor this to suit your current ability and your rate of improvement, but you get the idea. And use your blog and the forum to let us know when you are going through a bad patch and we will try to offer support and encouragement when you need it. Good luck' added 3rd Jul 2007

    • queenie74 'Sorry hon got abit carried away wiv pressing buttons there. I cant think of any better advice than wot these guys have given you. Only that motivation comes from within, if there is something u really want 2 achieve then u will do it. This site is really helpful, if you feelin unmotivated or find urself reaching for that choc bar or your 6th pint then log on and blog it, at the end of the day we're all human and all have off days (u should read some of my blogs!!! - err perhaps not lol). Good Luck Queenie x' added 3rd Jul 2007
