    Bad Blogger!

Although I haven't blogged for a couple of weeks, I HAVE still beeen running ........ and I'm thrilled to announce that I have managed to run for 30 mins non-stop, three times this week!  Woot!!!!Cool

Admittedly, two of these runs were on the treadmill because of sub-zero temperatures and ice at the sides of the road (I live in the middle of the countryside, so I run on open roads) .   I love running so I'm not going to risk slipping and breaking my ankle!

I'm very lucky that my sister and her hubby live less than 100 metres away and they have a fab treadmill in their garage, that they say i can use whenever I need to.

So now, I'm going to keep doing 30 mins, three or four days per week,  but try to build a wee bit of speed and endurance (it still almost kills me!  lol) until the beginning of the year, when I embark on my 16-week marathon schedule.

I'm now beginning to think that I might be capable of actually completing the VLM!  Smile

    Can't wait!

I can't wait until I'm actually able to run for 30 mins non-stop.   I think I might - just might - feel more like a real runner than I do just now.   Acording to the schedule I'm on, I should be able to achieve this in three weeks' time!

I run three days per week just now and I'm running 3x8 mins this week, moving on to 3 x 12 mins next week, then 2 x 15 the following week, till finally reaching the magic 30 mins.

Right now, it just seems totally unachievable!

    Week 5 .......

    ... and today i ran 3 x 8-minutes, with 2-minute walks in between!    Smile

Every week, I think I'm never going to be able to keep going for a longer time, yet each week i do actually manage it!    It seemed a huge leap from 5 minutes to 8 minutes - and although I have to say the last 8 mins was HARD - I managed it!!  Yay, me!  Smile

I live in the country, but on a main road, so that's where I run.  I try to run half my distance on the way out, so I get back to the house at the end.  Logical!  lol      I mistimed it today though and I had to walk for ages to get home.  My calves were killing me!!!

Why is it so painful to walk any distance after running?  Or is it just me?

    Woohoooo!

I weighed myself this morning and I found I have now lost exactly 2 stones!   I've been NEARLY there for a couple of weeks, but now I've actually done it!  Laughing

Only 4 more to go!  Embarassed

    Gear advice needed!

I'm kinda on a strict budget and I have no idea of the best value-for-money winter gear, ie - jackets, base layer, mid layer etc etc.   I don't want to be throwing my money away on stuff that isn't up to scratch, or even worse, unnecessary!

Can anyone give me some advice, please?

    Thank you!

    xx
