Update on running

Thanks for the comments on the quick report on my first marathon.
I have been slack in posting to the blog since Christmas, my only excuse is that I had been training for my marathon. Now it is over I have time and the strength to update my blog.
Initially I did not realise how time consuming marathon training was going to be. 4 training runs a week, rest days, threshold sessions etc. It is not just the time spent running, it is trying to find time to do all the other stuff that needs doing around the house, walking the dogs and sleeping.
I don't want to sound all glummy, as the whole training was fantastic and following a training programme to the letter paid off on the day and training with a running club made the whole experience enjoyable.
So what is my next challenge - well that's an easy one - a sub 4 hr marathon in the autumn. In between I have got a couple of 10mile races and cross country races. I decided against entering the Great North and South Races as I object to the high prices that they charge for entry. Over £40 for a half marathon and £32 for a 10 mile race is taking the **** in my view.
I have entered the ballot for next years FLM and hopefully it will be 4th time lucky, if I'm not I think I will find another marathon to run around that time of year. For some unknown reason I am focusing on marathons, maybe it is still the buzz of completing one. Even though the photo below does not show any buzz.....
Off running tonight, second run since the marathon and only planning on a slow short run of 5'ish miles. The legs feel ok but I don't want to chance anything.
