Well a new year is here and it's going to be very different for me from now on with the arrival of Noah on Boxing Day. My targets for the next year are as follows: To increase my mileage.Target = Beat last years total. Stretch Target = run more than 1000 miles.
To improve my 10K PB Target = Improve current PB. Stretch Target = run under 45 minutes
To improve my Hlf marathon time from last year Target = Run sub 1h 58 half marathon again. Stretch Target + Have a stab at my half marathon PB of 1hr 53m.
To keep my diet and weight under controlTarget = loose 5 pounds to get back to last summers weight. Stretch target = Reduce weight to between 12 stone and 12 stone 4.
My new motivation is to be a fit and healthy Dad for Noah in the future so we can do everything together that he may or I may wish to do in the future
Happy New Year all and good luck with you aims and targets for 2009.

Well decided that the back had stopped hurting so it was time to start running again!
Have reduced my weekly mileage down to 13 miles a week to start off with and will build up again over the winter slowly for a couple of 10K pb attempts in April and May next year after that HM training through to the Autumn and probably the GER or stroud and after that hopefully FLM place for 2010.
That's the statement of intent over.
Ran just 2 miles to night it felt good to run again, last run was GER which i shouldn't have run really!
So 2 miles in 19.27 - pretty slow WHR 64% Av HR 149 Pace 9.44
That is good news about the back - well done for getting out for the run. Sounds like a good plan for the winter. Enjoy the rest of the week and hope the run goes well on Thursday
Greats about the back. Well done on the run, and keep it slow and steady. Have a great week
