And the decision was....
Not to do the race. Instead I went to watch the Bath Half, boy that was cold - especially when out of the sunshine. Felt very envious and wanted to get out there and run. Well done to everyone taking part - fantastic race.
My girls were getting really cold so we came away to get something to eat and warm them up. Back home, still had itchy feet so did a 10 miler - more to prove to myself that I was ok. Bit different than a race situation. Felt ok, slower pace than I would normally do but ok.
Did 4 miles on the treadmill and no lasting damage. Niggle in left calf is still there but I think it may be originating from the ankle. Went out this morning on my bike, thought some cross training might help. Noticed left ankle was the one that ached. Anyway good to be back on the bike and getting some different exercise. Checking the gym out again this week, special offer of 3 mths membership. Also looking to join the local running club,,,,,
Off to Edinburgh tomorrow and Thursday so will be couple of rest days, then London on Friday. Have booked a couple of races just to keep going, want to break my Half PB this year.
Happy Running

simonedumergue 'Sounded like a good decision. Hopefully the rest over next couple of days with being away will help too. I was cold running - so I can't imagine how cold it was standing around in that bitter wind on Sunday!' added 9th Mar 2010
