Be Rude Not To...

do another post, amazing its been over a month since my last blog update. Where does the time go to, blog updates are one of those must get round to jobs where I think about it for 5 mins, debate content for another 5 and then something else happens and I forget all about it. I must apply the same discipline to my running.
Cant believe we are at the end of August already. Soon be winter training again and find out about VLM. August was a very up and down month for me, one of my lowest in terms of running / training but it has had two PBs. First at 10k over the Castle Combe circuit and then at 5 miles last Sunday on the Foxtrot 5.
Low volume is due to an injury, physio thinks an early stage of shin splints from overtraining. Was ordered to rest for 10 days, which coincided with a weeks holiday in the Lake District. My wife and I have a rule where she isnt allowed to ride on hols and I am not allowed to run. Its pure family time. Trouble is I dont think the physio ordered rest quite covered all the hill walking.
Did start running when I got back but still niggling, physio did his magic for me which helped on the pb for 5 miles. Mind is saying that it cant be that bad if I can run at that pace. Must rest up soonish though as I have a half mara in 10 days, although I am doubtful as I havent run over 7 miles for a while.
Happy Running, promise to blog more
