Still Out Here

Dec08201111:45 a.m.

Fantastic to see the email alerts on blogs coming back through.  Had a reponse from RB to advise all now fixed.  I was a bad blogger before that went on the blink, even worse when it was happening.  Am still catching up, apologies for those blogs that I missed.

So, where are we.  Had a good review with my physio on Monday, going through a plan to overall fitness and strength whilst still treating the shin splints.  They are much better, although not quite right so no runs over 10 miles or at pace for the time being.  Also plenty of cross training, gym is taking a bit of a hit at some strange hours.

Last Sunday, I was supposed to run a 10k but had one of those cant be arsed sessions when I got up.  Did get some mojo back and went out for a cross country run in some new trail shoes.  About 8 miles and came back covered in mud, mojo restored but by a different route.

Am still travelling back and forth around the country, London mostly this week, back in Edinburgh next week for a few days plus London as well.  Am finding the dark mornings tough, but it seems the only time I can get a run in during the week.  This morning it was a five miler at 5.30.  Joys of winter training!

Off to Kent at the weekend to visit my parents and drop off presents to the relatives.  timed it nicely with a trail run on the Sunday run by Maidstone Harriers.  Hoping to get the time in to give it a go, do like doing runs in different areas - bit of spice

My running club just published the race series results and overall I finished in 16th, not bad seeing as I didnt do all the runs.  Will see if I can do better next year.

Happy Running All

  • Hat 'Glad you are on the mend and your mojo has returned - wish mine would! And I hope those pesky shin splints disappear for good and you can enjoy your running once again - although, 5.30am for a 5 miler? You are made of sterner stuff than me! ' added 8th Dec 2011
