About Ready, Steady, Slow....
Right, where to start? I started running (actually, best not exagerate - it was more a jog come stumble at the time) as a way of keeping fit now that I've reached the ripe old age of 30 something :o) I had a slight disadvantage in that I have a distinct lack of funds for a new sport, and also a lack of time due to working shifts and having 3 wee children and hubby to work round too.
Running seemed like the ideal option which I could squeeze into my lunch breaks, and so it was until I spied an ad for a Race for Life near me and decided to do it in memory of my dad who died of Cancer in 2002. To my suprise I loved the race, and now seem to have a serious case of the running bug. :)
My current goal is just to improve speed and stamina (I'd love to do a sub 50 mins 10k) and eventually one day do a marathon - I've entered the London 2011 marathon but am not expecting to get in. I've recently managed to join my local running club, Silson Joggers who are really supportive and seem to think they will be able to improve my times. This blog is primarily to chart my progress and keep me motivated :)
PB's so far:
5k - 24min 40 seconds
5 miles - 41mins 09 seconds
