GOODNESS.......

Jan2820129:50 p.m.

....me!  Yet another huge gap between blogs.  I guess that's just the way things are for me at the moment.  I'm enjoying reading what everyone else has been up to though.

So the panto came and went.  Ticket sales were down a bit from last year, which was a shame as it was a great show.

So the week after panto saw me following the marathon training plan. Didn't feel too good on the Monday but made up for it on the Tuesday doing 5 miles including 2 fast ones (well sub 8:45 pace).  A good running club session on the Wednesday and then the week finished with a 12 mile long run.

The following week started well with a steady 5 miles (couldn't find the motivation to do the 3 tempo miles that was required).  Then circuits and running club.  Felt a bit fluey and when I got home, started shivering.

To cut a long story short, that was me out of circulation for the best part of 10 days with - well gastric 'flu, I suppose.  No running for a whole week!  and then when I did give it a go last Monday, I managed a short run, but the back of my neck was really throbbing at the end and I still didn't feel up to running club. Finally, last Tuesday, I began to feel better and had a good track session of 6 fast 400's  on Wednesday.

I'm pretty much recovered now, but having missed the 14 mile long run on the plan for last week, I managed 15 this week. Still undecided about whether to run Brighton. Like last year, if I get the long runs done, then I'll give it a go, but I do find fitting in the long runs a problem, so we'll see.

Anyway, I'm still here and I'm still running and loving it, so that's all good for now.
