About A Very Nervous beginner who needs support to complete the VLM
Hello, after many years of not running because of my "bad knees", a friend of mine who is a proper running snake convinced me to get on the treadmill and start to run with the mantra"you never get fit if you do what is easy, you have to do the thing you find hardest to improve".
With this in mind I started running and got hooked very quickly, in turn I applied for every race going including th VLM, I got a charity place and have already raised the £1,500 needed but with the money also comes the expectation. I did the run to the beat in 2hr 30mins but was a bundle of nerves and didn't perform anything like I thought I would. I have also completed 2 10k's in just over 1hr and am starting to feel a bit more comfortable at that distance.
I am running for asthma UK and am asthmatic, have a look at my sponsorship page on http://www.justgiving.com/Justin-Palmer/
I have not seemed to manage the pre-race nerves as yet and it seems to affect my performances so any advice or help you have would be great. I will keep you up to date with my training/injuries/ reaces etc - thanks for reading - Justin
