I thought I was going to the hospital this afternoon. I had booked a taxi, and arranged for a friend to come over, to collect the girls, so they could go over to her house, and play with her daughter. 

Then, at half-nine, the post arrived. "Your appointment in the orthopaedic department today has been cancelled."  "It has been rearranged for the 30th October."  Oh no, that's *ages* away! I won't get the operation organized for months and months...  "This rearrangement is because your operation has now been scheduled, for the 15th November, and we think it will be good to have your last appointment close to that." Phew! 

So, frustrated not to go today, but thrilled to have the operation date organized!
