In her blog, Gail Emms will keep you informed on news and events in the badminton and the sporting world in general, as well as with keeping you up-to-date on her life as a retired professional badminton player. And, there will definitely be a good insight into her life as a mother, and the training and fitness challenges she will be going through to get back into shape since giving birth.  

From the tender age of four, Olympian Gail Emms has always shown a flair for Badminton.  Her early talent then lead to her representing her country by the age of 18. Gail has had a busy and exciting career over the years reaching world No 1 in the mixed doubles with her partner Nathan Robertson.  As a team they also achieved great success taking home a silver medal from the 2004 Olympics and being Commonwealth gold medallists. 

In 2008 Gail retired having won a gold in both the European and World Championships, and has since taken on a new challenge of sports presenting, featuring on a number of programmes including; A Question of Sport, Radio 5 Live and 4Sport show.  More recently Gail has been enjoying life as a first time mum giving birth to a baby boy in March 2010.
