Filthy habit

No running to report, but the cycling regime continues - have been doing at least an hour every day this week. Today did about 90 minutes on the road bike out through the villages to the east of York. Some stunning woodland scenery in the autumnal sun - those subtle golden shades as the leaves turn colour.

This week also saw my ENT appointment at the local hospital, for this tinnitus problem. No black stockings I'm afraid, Rod. Although bizarrely I did find myself sitting in a crowded waiting room next to a couple of Nuns... then gradually over the next 2 hours the waiting room emptied as everyone else was seen, just leaving me and the Nuns by the finish. All just seemed a bit Monty Python for some reason!

Verdict from the ENT consultant was; hearing tests all normal, carry on what you're doing, see you in 6 months. Pretty much what I was expecting, to be honest. I'm actually getting a lot more help and support through an online tinnitus support forum (hang on... "real buzz" would actually be an excellent name for a tinnitus forum!!)

On the plus side, OH has excused me from helping redecorate the bathroom this weekend - as the noise from sanding down the walls/ceiling hurts my ears...result!

Happy running everyone

Hi Geoff - I've been away from the running/blogging world and have just read up on your last few posts. I'm really sorry about the tinnitus problem, that's a terrible thing to be suffering from. I hope you get some good results soon.
Good to hear that you're doing lots of nice miles on the bike though.
Very best wishes to you.

Somehow I have never thought of seeing Nuns in a hospital waiting room. Hope the tinnitus soon sorts itself Geoff. Two days was all I could stand some years ago.

The cycling seems to be going great and it will certainly keep your legs strong and your cardio system fit.

Tininitus is horrible isn't it ?

Unfortunately mine was self inflicted at a 1991 Motorhead concert in Sheffield, so I've learned to live with it.

Hope it gets better.

Glad your enjoying the road bike

Your ENT appointment reminded me... What kind of fun does a priest have?
Nun.

Sorry, I'll get my coat.

Good result getting out of the decorating - well done!
