What a difference a week makes!

Nov0920098:51 p.m.

My cold has gone after two weeks of coughing and nose blowing, it's made training really tough for me.  I had a week off in the end, I'd only completed one 2 mile run and it was such a struggle I felt incredibly disheartened.  I was warned that might happen...However, here we are a week later having completed 8 miles in 1hr 30 mins this weekend!  It might not be a record breaking marathon pace time but I'm happy with it so far, really happy.

I also feel reassured that having taken a few days off I haven't killed my fitness.  I needed a rest, I wasn't well and making myself train was definitely doing more harm than good.  I've just come back from a three mile run this evening and I pushed myself to pick up my pace too.  I feel so positive right now.  If I do pick up a cold again I will give myself a few days to shake it off and not be so hard on myself.  I am doing my best, and untimately so long as I can say that on the day of the marathon next year, I will be happy.

I'm eating more too, it's great!  Trying to keep to wholemeal carbs, fish and baked potatoes but still tasty treats.

It's not wrong to enjoy your training after all, right?!!
