Been in hiding!

Jan0420103:56 p.m.

I have taken some time out from blogging partly as life has taken over and also as I haven't exactly been startling in the training stakes!

Since the marathon (and subsequent job change) I have had a major training lull - due to a combination of circumstance and lack of motivation. Since changing jobs I have had to re-think how I train completely - no free gym membership and cushy 5 min walk to work!! On the flipside I now have a job I actually really like! I have taken to running home from work (3.5 miles) 2-3 times a week (faster than I can get home on public transport!!) and have given up the lift permenantly so am marching up 7 flights of stairs once or twice a day.

Despite nearly wimping out I ran the Serpentine New Years Day 10k again this year (this time in beautiful sunshine) and finished in a time that although too slow to admit here, I was actually pretty happy with as I hadn't done more than 5k since Sept!!

Now I need to give some serious thought to my training and goals for this year - and am going to use my upcoming trip to NZ to do some thinking and planning! Once I know what I am aiming for I will decide whether joining a gym (and parting with my hard-earned cash) is a good idea!

Big things happening in 2010 (including finally getting married!!) so watch this space....

Hope you find the trip back home useful on many fronts (I am so envious - still not got the funds to get back there myself yet....) and lovely news that you are getting married this year! Keep blogging and keep running :-)' added 4th Jan 2010
