Hmmmm - overpronating causing pressure on achilles. Structured shoes are doing their job but my foot is still going awry. So orthotics it is. Problem is there's no time prior to Royal Parks to get them made so I have off the shelf which are giving me blisters. Starting to think this running lark is not very good for me after all!!
So aside from the "devil's insoles" the achilles has had trigger point accupuncture, sports massage and ultra sound therapy today. Verdict - I'll get round but I won't be very comfortable! Great!
Despite the blisters I have now done a couple of runs (with the help of Compeed) and achilles at least is more comfortable.
So under 1 week to go! Mental note: Prey for a nice day. Oh! and buy shares in compeeed!
