Okay chaps, if you are thumbing over the holiday brochures planning this year's beak away, you might want to head for the hot destination pages... they could be the perfect boost to your sex life.

Yup - recent research shows that a spot of sunbathing can dramatically boost a men's sex drive, as testosterone levels rise accordingly with doses of vitamin D.  Now you probably already know this, as you are such a bunch of healthy living gurus but in case you don't Vit D levels in your body increase when you are sunning yourself, because it is formed in the skin through exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun. Okay, lesson over - let's get back to the sex.

The new findings back up previous research that found an hour of sunshine can boost a man's testosterone by 69% (apt stat).

But don't worry if you are a shade bather with a dislike for the sun, you can get your Vit D elsewhere, as well as getting the vital nutrient after exposure to sunlight, eating oily fish and meat are good sources too.

So, if you've already booked your camping weekend in Wales, you might want to stock up on some smoked salmon for some steamy nights under the canvas.  But be warned though, too much of a good thing can be bad, you can overdo it.  Yes, there are effects of too much vitamin D and they are far from sexy; nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, constipation, weakness, and weight loss and can also cause long-term damage to your liver and kidneys.

So, you will just need to monitor how long you stay in the sun to get the perfect balance between sex god and weak vomiting waif...around 15 minutes per day ought to do it.  Wonder how long Terry and Tiger spend in the sun - might have overdone it a smite. Elin and Toni, if you do patch it up, maybe pack some factor 30 next time?
