HAPPY EASTER AND HIGH LEGH (take 2)

Apr0320109:41 p.m.

Well, doesn’t time fly by, it’s hard to believe it’s Easter already, hope you’re all enjoying a good long weekend break!?

Recently I’ve been ticking along happily averaging a 10K most weeks, PLUS an LSR of about 7 miles and the odd tempo thrown in here and there, still I’m not racing next weekend but most of you are, so onto the subject of...

HIGH LEGH 10k (take 2) 11am on Sunday 11th April

http://www.highlegh.org/race/index.htm

I’ve been slightly nervous about mentioning High Legh 10K (take 2) in case I jinx it lol, but with just over a week to go it’s time we got the BUZZZZZZ building again I reckon!! It’s not possible to have snow in April is it?

I’ll be the last runner marshal at the very back carrying my charity bucket hoping to get a few coins out of everyone I see, so PLEASE chuck a bit of loose change in your running tights/shorts whatever.

My Hannah, and friends Claire & Julie, along with a few other people are all raising money for the SOS Children’s Villages charity, they have all raised over £100 which is absolutely fantastic.  A local company have agreed to double any funds raised which is staggeringly generous I'm sure you'll agree and for such a great cause!

To all of you who have sponsored Hannah and others, I personally want to let you know how massively appreciated your donations are by so many, every penny does make a difference.

With only a few days until the race, those runners who are running on behalf of SOS Children's Villages are still keen for your support. SOS provide homes in a safe village environments and a 'parent' for orphaned and abandoned children all across the world.

If you would like to donate please visit:

http://www.highlegh.org/race/news9.htm or throw any loose change into my bucket on the day – thank you, t h a n k  y o u, THANK YOU!!

Most of you know I lost my best friend Caroline suddenly at the end of November 2009. Caroline loved High Legh and so I will be running in Caroline's memory along with her closest friends and family on the day, I have a small bag of red ribbons for those of you who said you would like to wear one on the day to pay tribute to Caroline and her friends and family, if you already have your ribbon, I hope you will wear it on the day – thank you so much.

On the morning of the race, we have arranged to meet up at High Legh Garden Centre (Coffee shop).

They have once again kindly agreed to open early especially for us at 9am - courtesy of Neil Phelps the Manager, so I’m hoping a good few will grab a coffee as way of a thank you, loos are very handy too...

Directions to Garden Centre: http://www.klondyke.co.uk/high-legh-garden-centre-knutsford which is directly opposite the designated parking area.
