Wur doomed!

Since my last post, I've managed just 3 runs of 30 mins each, one of them in absolutely torrential rain. It was one of those runs where the drivers in cars going by stare at you as if to say "what on earth are you doing?" (That's when they are not aiming for puddles to soak you!). Still, I enjoyed both and am feeling good, I'm fitter than I suspected I would be at this stage, which is great. I've also got some really good tunes on my ipod now, and so with all that I feel free as a bird.
Outside of running, there's so much going on. My partner and I both work in the City and we just found out he's being made redundant on 24 Dec........I know lots of people outside of banking have no sympathy and assume that everyone's a millionaire, but it's not the case. This is the worst possible time to lose his job, you know things are bad when your recruitment consultant also gets the boot due to a downturn in business!! Anyway, crappo timing and another worry for us.
This is on top of the ongoing drama following our house fire in July this year.......my top tip to everyone is that if your house is going to go on fire, make sure you do it yourself. Ours was caused by a negligent builder and I can't even begin to tell you what a palaver that is, we have 2 insurance companies, 2 sets of loss adjusters, the fire brigade not to mention forensic investigators involved. All equally useless. Nightmare. Anyway, long story short we have £30K worth of damage, ceilings that are cracking, and so much red tape involved it's incredible. This is what's taking up so much of our time/energy/emotion at present......so running is proving to be a welcome break when I get a chance.
Is this supposed to be a running blog?! Whoops, sorry about that.
Clocks back this weekend, so that means one thing only!! Bring on the running in the dark
I actually quite like it, you can't beat a fresh, crisp frosty evening and that hot shower afterwards.
Hope to have a more positive blog next time!! I may be giving fellow blogger Miserable Bleeder a run for his money

VictoriaLondon 'Stressful times for you! I sympathise with you. Having a house fire and redundancy must be some of the most stressful life events you can face, apart from death and severe illness. however it won't last forever so battle on through. im also doing edinburgh, trying to up the mileage, good luck with your training. seems like you're off to a flying start' added 25th Oct 2008
