Quick update on how I got on.

Apr1820112:59 p.m.

Boy it was hot yesterday wasn't it ?!?  I remembered to put on sun cream but still managed to get a nice sun tan line from my t-shirt sleeves and shorts !

As for the race, I'm glad to report that my left ankle didn't cause me any pain during the race.  My objective was simply to get round, and I achieved that.  I knew I wasn't on for a cracking time because of injury interupted training programme.  I finished in 4 hours 20, which is almost 35 minutes slower than my PB.  But putting it into context - I have missed 6 weeks of training since beginning of January through injury (4 of those missed weeks in the month leading up to the race).  So with only about 70% training in the bag, I think my time is very respectable.

I won't be doing another marathon now - I know we all say that post-run.  But I think this time I'm telling the truth !  So congratulations to all those who finished.  I hope you are all happy with your performances !
