As you may or may not know running is not normally a pastime that I partipate in!

I'm far too heavy and prone to injury to make this a regular occurance.

So you might ask yourself, as I do everyday, why did I agree to run the London Marathon?

Brothers!!

They say you can choose your friends but not your family. Never a truer word spoken...

My youngest brother, Neil, has had a successful kidney transplant and this not only completely transformed his life, but it transformed my parents life as well. So, as a family, we try, wherever possible, to give/help the kidney research foundation.

However, he's not the only person to blame for the pain I am experiencing! My other brother (also younger), Michael, ran the Great North Run last year. Bouyed by the fact that he had finished it, his first ever running event, he laid down the gaunlet for running at London. I have never been able to refuse a challenge, but especially one from a younger brother! The rest as they say, is history (which I could also be due to the training)...
