DISAPPOINTED...

not in my running I might add.
I did 15 miles or there about on Friday and it was quite a hilly run. Did not take my usual route. Still had plenty left in the tank when I finished. I think.
We'll see because I'm going to do 20 on Friday and that will be my last long one before the big day.
No I am disappointed in the turn out for my charity night!! It seems a lot more people bought tickets who did not turn up on the night. It's a nice gesture but it would've been much nicer to have everybody there.
I think we had just over a hundred people which is not bad, but we had a venue that held 400.
From this experience of organising this night I have found that a lot of people are not charitable and live in their own little bubbles.
Also, the organisations that we approached weren't great either but thanks to:
Lee Ball (A really good cabaret act!)
Alma de Cuba
Nichola's Restaurant
Everton Football Club
The Liverpool Adelphi
Phil Thompson, Paul Jewell (the Wigan ball went for £40!! Not bad in Liverpool) and Dave Watson.
and last but not least EVERYBODY WHO ATTENDED (Big thanks to them)!!
Special mentions to Liverpool Football Club and every golf course in the North FOR REJECTING OUR REPEATED REQUESTS FOR DONATIONS. I THINK YOU MUST BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD A STANDARD REJECTION LETTER AS THEY WERE ALMOST IDENTICAL WORD FOR WORD!!!
Let's hope they never have any kidney problems...very disappointing...
I am now determined to do another one next year in the same venue and fill the place out!!
Going to start organising that as soon as the marathon is out of the way.
I think we raised about £800 which isn't bad and means that we only need another £1,700 between us to make our golden bond.
I've set up a just giving page (address at the top if anyone is interested) it was a lot easier than I thought and I should have done it ages ago!
I do think we'll be putting a lot of that in ourselves but nevermind!!
5 to 8 miles today just to stretch the legs.
I'll report in for a bit more of a rant later....

maz 'I know how you feel. My daughter who is runnning with me - well ahead of me - in the marathon is organising a ball for her fundraising night and finding it really hard to sell the tickets. Think she is worried now she cant give them away. So instead of raising money it looks like we will be in debt by a few thousand pounds. Hopefully they might let us move the date, but if not we will have to sell our bodies and I know I wont get much!' added 1st Apr 2007
