When does concern turn to panic?

Feb2720097:09 p.m.

Total rest today, but yesterday completed a 5.09 mile run in 44 minutes and 17 seconds.

The more eagled eyed amongst you will have noticed that yesterdays run was 1 mile short of the plan I set out on Monday. What am I saying? I’m sure all of you will have noticed! It sticks out a mile!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry.

My mind was willing, but unfortunately I seem to have picked up a bit of a leg injury. Nothing too serious I hope, but I’ve suffered from it before, and I remember it took a while to clear up. Nevertheless I will be trying to complete the 13 miler, which is in my schedule, and be prepared to stop if my leg gives me too much trouble.

However, I’m definitely concerned this may set me back over the next 8 weeks, just as I was starting to make some real progress, but as I’m advised by the ‘Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy’ – Don’t panic! But what sort of advice is that?!! It’s like saying to someone ‘cheer up’, or ‘It costs nothing to smile’, or ‘Never get so drunk you fall asleep in a fridge’, it just makes you want to do the opposite. But calm I will stay, at least until I have completed my run tomorrow.
