a blog!

so it's been a while...I need to get into the habit of updating this more often, as I do find it useful as training diary to look back at what i've been doing..and also to keep a bit motivated....

I've been training and I think I'm reasonably pleased with where I am at the moment..started training properly after christmas..then got a bit behind because of the snow, but once it melted managed to increase my mileage a little so , so far I've managed 2 x 15 milers and 4 x 18 milers as my long runs..and am at about 45-50 mpw..I'm struggling a bit with speed I think..I haven't done any specific quality work at the moment but my longer runs seem a little slower than they were a few years back..maybe it's just age.. but i would like to see my leg speed improve over the next 6 weeks or so...next week i'll probably stick at 18 for my long run, then when we get into march start on some 20's and introduce a some reps of 1k / 1m or something...I'm also lacking on my mid week long run at the moment..but as always  finding it hard to balance work / home life and running....I think I may enter the Bournemouth half at the end of march to see how i'm getting on...not sure if i will be in shapeto hit 2.45 on the big day..but definatley want to be sun 3 again..we'll see how it pans out..
