Getting Angry With Computers!

Oct1320118:04 p.m.

3 failed attempts later, hopefully I'll actually manage to post a blog this time.

3 failures for different reasons too. First, trouble with getting a connection, it was there when I got onto t'internet, it had vanished by the time I clicked on "publish post". Then a smiley ruined everything the next night. Most annoying though was lastnight, when, in adding a link to my post, I forgot to use a new tab, and stupidly navigated out of realbuzz! What a plonker!

What I was going to tell you about was:

(1) I've had my interview for a volunteer position at the Olympics next year, could be as late as April before I find out if I've been successful, but I did seem to strike up a good rapport with the interviewer.

(2) Slowly but surely I'm getting to run a bit more, if all goes swimmingly well, I may be able to think about rocking up at Alex Park on Dec 4th where Judith will be running.

(3) I've taken the plunge and joined a running club, the only one really that matches my wants and needs, and to be honest, one I've been thinking about for a long time, Eryri Harriers.

(4) Planning for my long term goal of The Paddy Buckley Round has started in earnest, Ordnance Survey offer a brilliant service where you can have a custom made map, which I have ordered. Trouble is, such is the scale of the task, even though a 1:25,000 scale map covers 400 square kilometres, the Paddy Buckley round still won't fit on one map! I've had to make do with a 1:50,000 Landranger version.

(5) Training has been slow the last few days, weather getting in the way of cycling, work getting in the way of other training methods - I've been on a different job that is so demanding on the hands and forearms that I've had no grip strength or forearm mobility left by the end of a shift, body is getting more used to it now though.

Right, thats about it for now, TTFN :-)

  • craigbeat 'Glad you got there in the end! I work with computers all day, and I know how many things can go wrong. It seems loads of people have been having internet / phone related issues these days. My own internet has been flakey of late - most annoying! Fortunately, I don't have a blackberry, so I've managed to avoid that particular outage. Do they Eryri Harriers run up and down Snowdon / Snowdonia? I've always fancied that hill running lark.' added 13th Oct 2011
