Underachieving?

At the halfway stage of the year, seems like a good time to have a quick review of how things are progressing:
Exercised on 127 out of 182 days (69.7%). Its been a mixture of running, cycling, and several varieties of resistance training.
Cycled 1,507 miles over 59 rides (19 on rollers). Average of 25.5 miles each ride.
Run 217 miles over 53 runs (29 off road). Average of 4 miles each run.
Stretched on 71 out of those 127 days (55.9%).
All in all, its not a lot. It certainly doesn't seem like its enough. I mean, there are people on here who have run more miles than I have cycled.
When I think properly about where I've come from though at the start of the year, 2 miles run / walk, I can't be unhappy with how things are progressing.
The one thing that really has been a spoiler for me though has been the weather, there'd have been much more cycling getting done if it hadn't been so damn wet. Many times I'd have got the bike out if only it had been drier. I seem to be losing out on cycling even more so too since the bees moved into the barn - they're generally fine, not at all aggressive like wasps, but you can't get a workout on the rollers when you're that close to the hive, they react to the CO2 as you start puffing and panting, and take it as a sign that the hive is about to be attacked, and so they defend it.
Anyway, I'm not making excuses. I feel even though I haven't really done very much, it's moving in the right direction, I'm quite happy with the consistency if not the volume, and I'm in a good place to start from for the second half of the year - well, that's if I can get my arse up off the sofa and away from all this wonderful sport we're getting this year - I'm loving it
.
Nightshifts this week, so I hope Mr Murray can get his games finished off significantly quicker than yesterday, but keep it going Andy, keep it going....

Scardoc 'Similar mileage to me (251.2) and I don't cycle!! I started from a better base in January but I have already run more this year then I did all of last year. I'm pretty sure the niggling injury has been down to the increase. So, point is, that whilst you maybe feel you've not done enough on paper it's all making a big difference to your legs. Keep injury free and you'll get the major benefits. Never compare yourself to others on this site either - run your own race!!' added 2nd Jul 2012

Firefly123 'Bees! Now that's a new hazzard of training that I hadn't heard of. I hope you get to see some of the tennis this week, although its quite wet in London today, so I'm not sure if there'll be any play. ' added 2nd Jul 2012

SeanG 'Wow, you like your stats! Wouldn't worry too much so long as progress is in the right direction. Agree about the damn weather. When it hasn't been raining its been very windy. Not good for running or cycling!' added 3rd Jul 2012

Rob_Barber 'I keep my training log on an Excel spreadsheet Sean, everything on auto-sum. Day to day don't really pay much attention to stats, but at the end of the month its good to see if the trend is moving in the right direction, and how what I've actually done compares to what I feel like I've done. It helps too with seeing whether or not I am actually getting improvements.' added 3rd Jul 2012

moose10 'I agree this bloody weather hasn't being productive to training especially on the bike. I completed a sportive at the weekend and certainly hadn't done enough miles and it was a whole lot tougher than I was expecting. Still something is a whole lot better than bugger all.' added 4th Jul 2012
