Wow I can't beleive it after many years trying I have finally got a London Marathon place through the ballot.

So I have decided to set up this blog so that people I know (and maybe some I don't) can see what training for a marathon actually feels like and involves.

I am running for 2 charities in this years marathon - to read more please visit my justgiving sites at http://www.justgiving.co.uk/sampaine4london and http://www.justgiving.co.uk/sampaine4london2

I am chuffed to bits that I am in!

Long & Slow

Fridays run was just that - long and slow - I did run 13 miles though and most schedules say "long & slow" so that's OK! According to my friend the slow bit is there for a reason!!

Unfortunately Monday's shorter run was also slow - time to look at my food and to increase my calories I think! When you are trying to eat healthy good food an increase in calories can be alot of food - oh well I have a reason to eat chocolate now!!

I did finally get round to doing my yoga dvd today (I've had it for 3 months!) & I really enjoyed that, so I am going to do an hours yoga at least once a week now, there is no other stretch quite like it!! Off to teach aqua aerobics classes now!

I sometimes think my legs have forgotten what fast is like, everything seems to say slow these days! But then again 26 miles ain't going to get done fast!! Good efforts on keeping the mileage increasing as well as teaching classes as well!

Slow is fine for your long runs so ditto the above.
wait till the miles really start to go up next month, you'll be amazed at how much you'll want to scoff!

Well done on your 13 miles, and I wouldn't stress too much about the speed of Mondays run :-)
