Quiet week
Jan0820126:55 p.m.
Well, the rest of last week. A very quiet week really, especially at work. The lull before the storm! On the running front, couple of 5 miles easy runs on Wednesday and Thursday. Windy would be an understatement. Friday was back to the Nursery run. At the least the horrific winds had disappeared . Just over 4 miles to the Nursery with an empty BabyJogger and then just over 4 miles back with a fully laden BabyJogger. 8.25 miles in total. I don't know what is more odd - running with an empty BabyJogger or running with the Little One in the BabyJogger. People stare regardless but you get some really odd looks when its empty! Saturday was 8 miles with the Little One back in the BabyJogger and 'er Indoors too for the 1st 0.75 mile.
56.70 miles for the week.
Today was back to the usual Sunday LSR of 13.25 miles with the Little One in the BabyJogger. Quite a mild day, with just a very light breeze in the air. Felt pretty good in most part but felt a little jaded and tired for the last mile or so. Probably a combination of dehydration and/or lack of fuel. Only ever have a cup of tea before a morning run and don't bother taking anything on the run with me. So, not really a surprise. However, I think that training slightly dehydrated and on "empty" isn't a bad thing. Your body learns to adapt!
13.25 miles in 2 hours and 30 seconds. Average heart rate of 131 bpm. Polar PI rating of 65. Average pace of 9.06 mins/mile.
Full week at work this week. 3rd cross country league race of the season on Wednesday with a nice 240 mile round trip thrown in too.
Spring/summer marathon schedule is pretty much now complete. Looking at doing (at least) 16 marathons in the 1st 6 months of year (possibly more!). Only managed 8 in the 1st 6 months of last year and still did 24 for the year. Aiming for 30 in total this year and will travel a little further a field to do them. This will put me on track for the magic 100 in mid 2013. Fingers crossed.

Jenny1961 'I can't believe you are doing so many marathons Sean- my target is 12 and even I'm wondering how I'm going to fit them in! Very impressive indeed. Interesting your comment re running on empty because I was just thinking along those lines when I was commenting on Malcolm's blog. I ran 14 miles today without taking any drink. I was fine but was very thirsty when I got home. I seem to run better with only a little bit of food in my tum- like a slice of toast. Not sure if I'll use gels in the marathon either- I did use the Hammer ones in the 50 miler and they saw me through but may just use jellybabies again in the marathons. As long as I'm really fuelled up the days before I think that should suffice. I'll practice in training again :) ' added 8th Jan 2012
