My Garmin - RIP
Jan0420122:29 p.m.
The damage was done last June, when it got jammed in my friend's van door - not the best place to have put it down when unloading our bikes. However, I managed to put it back together with elastic bands and it soldiered bravely on for another 6 months. Going out for a run in heavy winds, I turned a corner into a sharp side wind which lifted the top of my Garmin (elastic bands having slipped off) and sent it flying into the road.
Nothing can restore it. Christmas and birthday lists having been fulfilled for another year, I will now have to rely on my iPhone to measure my runs.
So far this week (year) I've run three days out of four and done 14 miles. Well on track and feeling good. Nothing quite like a week off work to get the year off to a good start! I wasn't meant to run today but it was too good an opportunity to miss so I did a gentle 5 mile jog along a favourite route.
Wasted a lot of time (again) faffing about with my iPhone trying to get decent volume control once it's in the sports armband and still not getting full gps for the whole route. Missing my little virtual running partner. Bye bye Garmin.
