Spin & swim - Mark II
Feb01201211:36 a.m.
Very similar day today.
Went to the spinning class last and found it very odd - the session felt pretty easy at first until I upped the gears. At first I thought I just had an easier bike than everyone else, but then I realised that it was simply that I was spinning on rested legs for a change; usually when I do these sessions they've got at least two days' training in them.
This morning I weighed in - just half a pound gone, but my waist is noticeably thinner so I'm thinking that's where the calorie deficit has done its work over the last week. I'll take that!
Headed to the gym for a swim before work. It was just an easy one to start getting my body used to swimming two days in a row, as in a couple of weeks that's what the programme will have me doing. After 50 lengths my shoulders starting noticing it and my form suffered so I called it a day at 1500m - next week I'll aim for at least 2000m.
Tonight I'm back up the gym for another spin class. My achilles is feeling fine today but I'm going to leave until Friday anyway just in case. The run's my best discipline by far anyway at the moment so I'm not missing out on anything by hitting the bike this week.
