Week 9 begins

Jan30201212:13 p.m.

That was a great weekend!

After work on Friday I headed out for my run - 8.4M @ 7:45/mile pace but it felt a lot easier than that.  After that I met some friends for a curry and then had a couple of pints, but with the double training sessions I still broke even on the calories for the day.

Saturday morning I sat on the turbo trainer for 2hrs 30 which is as exciting as it sounds.  Got the training done though, and that's what matters.  Dropped the bike in for a service then just generally relaxed for the rest of the day.

Sunday morning I was out with the running club - 14.7M @ 8:15/mile pace on a frosty morning really kickstarted my day, and I spent the afternoon visiting some other friends.

I've eaten well over the weekend (and the rest of the week before for that matter) - between Saturday and Sunday I amassed an approximate 2500 calorie deficit and today I'm noticeably thinner than I was last week.  That weigh-in on Wednesday should be good.

Today's a total rest day.  My left achilles is a bit painful but I don't think it's due to training; I was wearing a different pair of trainers yesterday afternoon and I think their back has been nudging my ankle with every step.  Should clear up quickly though - if I'm in any doubt tomorrow I'll turbo or spin instead of heading to running club.

So on with Week 9 - big miles ahead!
