In hirsuite of excellence - the Tache Factor
Oct27200912:12 p.m.
I attended a party at the weekend where all the guests were expect to attend with a moustache - either one they had grown or one that they had bought. On the menu were moustache shaped gingerbread and moustache decorated cake, plus there was even the opportunity to play 'Tache Factor' which invo
lved drawing the best comedy moustaches on some of the biggest celebs out there in a kind of moustache wall of shame.
Tache of the day belonged to none other than realbuzz's very own designer Mike who did his best impression of an in-bred trucker with his handlebar muzzy, cap, and check shirt. Respect for that one Mike I'm sure you'll all agree.
Anyhow, after Beckham's recent beard effort, I though it was time to play our very own Tache Factor.
Without so much as a Des Lynam intro in sight, here's nine hairy specimens for you to name, and at the same time vote for which one you'd like to crown as Tache (or beard) Factor champion for 2009.

In truth, there were so many hirsuite candidates who could have made the final shortlist (I didn't think Hulk Hogan counted as a sports star), but if there's any glaring ommissions please let us all know.

Johnf 'Lallas, classic David Boon, ? Coventry player, Daley, the even more classic Merv Hughes, WG with full set, Souness, Bedford and Mansell. For the full hair and tache set I think its a tough call between Valderrama, Gullit and our own David Seaman' added 27th Oct 2009

Simon_Doyle 'John, the Coventry players was an FA Cup winning captain. Any ideas? If we are going down the hair route, what about Jason Lee with a Pineapple on his head? Dontsurf, we are considering participating in Movember because they do it in the UK for Prostate Cancer too.' added 27th Oct 2009

jamieB 'Killer, Brian Kilcline - ex-Notts, think he was England U-21 and, maybe, B team too. Went to my sister's party around 1983. Great guy, as big as the tash, I remember being fascinated by him and the tash that night. FA Cup winner, as captain(?), and I saw him recently doing arm wrestling... Amazing how the tash was so big for sportsmen of the 80's. It reminds me of the episode where Homer goes into the all-girls club (and spot that something is wrong - no fire exit), like they were really missing something. It's almost like Beckham's influence on grooming/fashion/growth of the metrosexual during the late 90's happened a bit too late for these guys. Totally amazing these especially the Boon and Hughes. Also big in the cricket community since the 1980's too: Here is a list of well-known crickers with moustaches(http://thevillagecricketer.com/2007/07/09/the-10-best-cricketing-moustaches/) Sir Richard Hadlee Jack Russell Clive Lloyd Robin Smith Kapil Dev Sir Ian Botham Graham Gooch David Boon Adam Hollioake Merv Hughes But I suppose Burt Reynolds was big around the time...' added 27th Oct 2009

jamieB 'Missed it out. Had to add Eddie Hemmings to the list of cricketers with a tash. I'd also add my second favourite footballer of all-time to the list, Kenny Burns. Nice to see he's kept the facial hair: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.brianclough.com/forum3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.brianclough.com/forum.htm&h=598&w=1104&sz=138&tbnid=xH51eJwxxnXqQM:&tbnh=81&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dkenny%2Bburns&hl=en&usg=__4M9s3Z2lbjl5XdAf4KNLVO2DoAw=&ei=GE7nSr7uCYG8jAeiydW6CA&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=4&ct=image&ved=0CBEQ9QEwAw' added 27th Oct 2009

Simon_Doyle 'Love the cricketer tache XI. There was definitely a muzz thing going on in the 80s, especially among cricketers. I had the good fortune to meet Brian 'Killer' Kilcline at a dinner following a Masters tournament. He was a great fella. At the time he was living in a canal boat - don't know if that's still the case. He was actually banned from doing the arm wrestling on Sky on health and safety grounds! Killer now has facial hair just as comical as Kenny Burns though both have their own unique styles. Bring on Movember!' added 28th Oct 2009
