What's in a name?

Nov16200912:10 p.m.

The Hayemaker (David Haye) did for the Beast from the East, and the Pacman (Manny Pacquiao) did the honours this weekend in claiming a seventh world title in a seventh different weight division.

This all goes to prove to be a champ, you have to have a great nickname. Boxers have for a long time been given some of the most flamboyant names around, and many have failed to live up to the monicker.

Here's 10 of the best boxing nicknames from boxers who did generally deliver a knockout punch as great as their name: Manny Pacquaio

1. "Iron" Mike Tyson.
2. "Smokin" Joe Frazier. "
3. "Marvellous" Marvin Hagler
4. Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns
5. Hector "Macho" Camacho
6. Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield
7. James "Bonecrusher" Smith
8. Laila "She Be Stinging" Ali
9. Pac-Man (Manny Pacquaio)
10. Raging Bull (Jake LaMotta)

Next up on the cards for David Haye is the far from threatening sounding "The Quiet" Man (John Ruiz) whose name reminds me of one of the best and longest lasting fight scenes ever played out on the big screen.

And the cheesiest or worst nickname in boxing (unless you can think or worse) goes to Michael "Second to" Nunn. Is it any wonder with a name like that, that he is now serving a 24-year stretch for cocaine possession with intent to deliver.
