We had been aware from the previous evening that a young German woman in another party was quite ill and getting dehydrated from problems at both ends. This morning they had sent for a helicopter to evacuate her to hospital and we were treated to the sight of a very skilled pilot landing the thing on something that looked like the size of a postage stamp -flat land is at a bit of a premium in the hills hereabouts! I kept thinking that any moment the blades were going to touch the lodge roof or the trees. However, he did it and the young woman was taken off to have treatment. This reminded me that this was a fairly serious undertaking we were involved in.
