Due to work and family commitments, running has taken a back seat of late Frown, not what I had planned, but such is life.

Anyway, Saturday was the Nike+ Human Race Day and I had set myself the challenge of completing the 10K run 'No Matter What'. So I dropped my daughter at her dance class and met up with superrunningmummy to run round Grafham Water. For those of you that don't know it, it's a slight undulating trail run around a reservoir. Very picturesque and usually very enjoyable but I classed this run as 'PAYBACK'. It was a reminder to me that whatever is going on it pays to train even if only to do a quick 5K; do something.

Superrunningmummy and I are tackling out local half marathon in November and so we need to get the miles under our belt. Saturday was a mixture, wet, damp, warm - in fact very muggy. I struggled and had to walk twice throughout the run, this knocked me for six, because I've lost count of the number of times I've run round Grafham without any problem. It affected superrunning mummy and me. We've agreed to run the same route next weekend and this week I have runs scheduled so that I don't loose heart again.

I will get a couple of runs in before I have to go to Manchester on business and quite possibly one more on my return. So next Saturday looms and 'PAYBACK' will make a swift retreat Smile
