If the cap fits....
Hello campers. How are we all? I have developed a slight limp on account of my 6-mile run, yes that’s right 6-mile run yesterday! It was an absolute joy to be running in the sunshine for the first time in months. Naturally I over-dressed for the occasion and heated up to around 130 degrees. Fortunately it was difficult to tell beneath my baseball cap and sunglasses......I like to think I looked a trifle like Victoria Beckham....but then again......

In terms of the running, well it felt pretty good. The last mile hurt a bit, mainly because we got to the halfway stage and realised we had been talking so much, we had been running too slowly. So rather like the Kenyans in the 10,000 metres, we stepped it up for the last 3 miles. The conversation tailed off somewhat I can tell you. But despite a slightly puffy knee, which is attractive, I actually feel okay.
The plan is to do another 6-miler next week and then step up to 7 the week after and then up to the magical 8, in time for the Breakfast Run which is on April 11th. I also did a gym session on Monday (get me), which involved an 8-mile bike ride and a quick one-mile run. It made me briefly ponder the pros and cons of attempting a triathlon. But then I had a hasty word with myself and sloped off for a bacon butty instead.....

I was so exhausted last night after ‘the run’ and taking my daughter swimming (I know it’s all go), I decided it would be a good idea to snuggle down and watch a movie. I ended up sitting through Seven Pounds, with the lovely Will Smith. I also munched my way through an entire Easter Bunny, which I had only bought for the children last weekend. I told my husband I was bulking up for the race.......he nodded in silent agreement. Anyway Seven Pounds is a bit of a tearjerker to say the least, so I ended the evening sobbing quietly and covered in chocolate..... which is sort of just an average night in our house..... Anyway happy Wednesday to you, oh and please don't forget to sponsor me..... www.justgiving.com/Sue-Thearle

Sue_Thearle 'Yes I fear the cupboards will be bare for the little ones..... And Will do come and say hello if you see me at Kingston. I can't promise I'll actually have the power of speech after the race, but I will try......' added 4th Mar 2010
