Poorly but stable

Nov1320093:24 p.m.

Well you know that winter is well and truly upon us when the coughs and colds season gets underway. My daughter is the latest to fall foul of the dreaded sore throat and runny nose, which is a double blow for her, as we have been invited to go behind-the-scenes at Strictly Come Dancing tomorrow. She doesn’t know yet, and fortunately she won’t be reading this blog so the surprise won’t be ruined, but if she passes an early morning fitness test, she and some dear friends of ours will be heading off to TV Centre to meet the cast and crew.

Chris and Ola will be our hosts, having very kindly offered to show us around and even though I work in TV, I love things like this. Hey I dragged my very patient sister around Paramount Studios in LA this summer, simply because I love seeing how programmes are made. I know. I need to get out more. But I am particularly excited about having a sneaky peek at the wardrobe department. I really am. In fact I might just take a chunky sweater for Ola. With the outfits she wears, she is going to catch a nasty chill if she's not careful.......

So if you have any questions for anyone on the show, that won’t result in me getting a punch in the face (!), I would be delighted to pass them on. I am really looking forward to have a chat with Tuffers, who I think is a real dark horse. But sadly I won’t get the chance to meet dear old Bruce Forsyth, as he too has succumbed to the dreaded lurgy. I am totally gutted. I must say I love Brucie, both for his cheesy humour and the fact, to continue a golf theme, that he is so enthusiastic about golf and sport in general. He lives on the Wentworth estate and tries to play every day.

Mind you, when you can hear the distant thud of errant golf balls landing in your garden, courtesy of enthusiastic but moderate muppets like me, I guess there isn’t much excuse not to stagger the 100 yards or so to the first tee. Still for a man in his 80’s, he is an inspiration to us all.

Right well I am off to tend to the sick and needy, but any questions that you do want asking, then do let me know. I will do my very best I promise. Don't forget the show starts tomorrow at 6.50 and Hollins tells me his paso doble will be something to see.......hmmmmmm.
