The Thurley Wurleys

I am still in a state of proud shock at the relentless progress of Senor Hollins on Strictly Come Dancing. The man is a legend. I will be seeing him in the office this week, so I will grab a few words with the man of the moment and let you know how he rates his chances of going all the way. We were having a little Strictly party with some friends on Saturday night and after a couple of glasses of fizzy pop, we all decided that he has got to avoid the dance-off to get to the final.

We were unanimous in our belief that the judges would favour either Ali and Brian or Ricky and Natalie, even though little Chris clearly has the popular vote. So come on little ‘un, you can do it. So given that it is the awards season and that our Chris might just be daring to believe he could lift that Strictly trophy, I thought I would launch my own set of awards. I shall call them the Thurley Wurleys and they shall be given in honour of athletic achievement and feasibility.

Now don’t panic. This isn’t a raving ego gone mad, I can assure you. No the reason is simple. I have been invited to review some fitness DVD’s that are due to for release this Chrimbo season and in your honour my friends, I am throwing myself on my sword of workout DVD snobbery and launching myself and my lycra outfit into a series of workouts...... heaven help us all. I may even dress up to honour the occasion.... or then again, I may not.

Now I have two choices to launch this brave new world. Rosemary Conley’s Real Results DVD or Coleen Nolan’s Let’s Get Physical. The choice my friends is yours. Cast your votes because you will decide. I must say I am slightly erring towards starting off with the Coleen Nolan DVD, simply because of the title. It conjures wonderfully awful visions of yours truly in a dance outfit not unlike the one worn by Olivia Neutron-Bomb in her Physical era.

That woman made headbands and leg warmers de rigueur. I think I might try and do the same. And I am curious how one of the Nolans, who were not renowned for their extensive dance videos as a pop group combo, tackles the world of dance fitness.

So yes that is the plan. Honestly is there no limit to the humiliation I am willing to put myself through for your entertainment?! Apparently not. So let me know which way you want to jump or shuffle first. And watch this space people and be afraid. Be very afraid......

It's got to be Coleen Nolan's as I guess Rosemary Conley's might get better results a Nolans/Physical workout sounds a lot more fun.

I'm in the mood for dancing, romancing and ....err.....getting physical, physical .........

i would be slightly concerned about a nolan one, as you say they are not reknowned for physical activity.. can you imagine - you'll end up in Loose Women!
