Fashionably Late
Hi,
I'm still waiting to meet Mini Me, but I am only a day overdue, so there's still time.
I've been trying a few things to get him to roll into action. I went for a walk along the prom yesterday with my lovely niece - more of a waddle on my part - then went back to hers to see my other niece and my sister-in-law. They were suggesting names for the babba, some I like, but there has only been one or two myself and hubby can agree on - so we're probably going to go with one of those. However, we have nicknamed him Floyd throughout the pregnancy and I'm getting quite used to it. He'd have to end up being a rock star with a name like Floyd Rogers though!!!
I'm glad the hot weather has cooled down. My feet and legs blew up with fluid retention and it was so uncomfortable - I couldn't bend my toes and my ankles were starting to overlap my feet. It's not been my best look!!!!
I went to put my trainers on yesterday for the first time in 9 months and found 2 spiders living in them - I quickly dropped them!! I can't wait to dust them off and get back into a bit of running. My niece is keen to come out with me again. I started training her about a couple of weeks before I got pregnant and felt bad that I had to stop, as she was getting into it. However, she loves a good old chinwag and we have some hilarious conversations, so I think she sees me as her ideal running partner to take her mind off the pain

I'm going to try and do a bit of hoursework today to get things moving, combined with bouncing like Tigger on my gymball in front of mindless telly, although I draw the line at Jeremy Vile.
Hope you are all well and maybe my next post may be more about my new addition

Love
Wendy

Perchance to sleep!
Hi,
I noticed Roly blogged last week. He's a good lad and has been looking after me. He is very clingy and follows me everywhere! I think he must sense something.
I've only got 12 days until I'm due now and it can't come soon enough. I've enjoyed being pregnant (mainly due to scoffing an abundance of jam tarts and almond slices!!!) but this last month has been tough. I've gone huge over the past few weeks, which is good in the sense that it means the baby is growing well, but not good in that I can't walk easily and am very breathless and can't sleep between the hours of 2am and 4am!!!
The midwives have been checking me 3 times a week as my blood pressure has been high and they are concerned I may develop pre-eclampsia, which can be threatening for me and the baby. However, I think they are now realising that the fact that they are checking me so often is putting my blood pressure up!!!!!!
I am listening to a birthing hypnotherapy CD every other day, which is very relaxing. I've got it transferred onto my mp3 ready for the big day, to calm me down. I have also been drinking a few cups of raspberry leaf tea a day and bouncing on a gym ball. The tea is supposed to tone your uterus to make contractions more efficient when they come and reduce labour times - let's hope eh!!!
Hubby has been brilliant doing housework for me, even though he has recently had an operation on his hand and his other wrist has tendonitus. He's my hero and I couldn't ask for a better best friend, hubby and father of my child in one package

I was told by the midwife that babba is growing to plan and, although I wont have a huge baby, he will be a good average size. I just want him to be healthy and happy.
Not much else has happened, apart from my big brother phoning me yesterday - that NEVER happens. I was made up to hear from him. I think I'm making him broody too. We were close as kids, even though we used to regularly beat each other up
and I think he feels a closeness to the baby because of our bond. It's so nice to see the reaction from people when you are having a baby and it shows it's what makes most of us complete.I hope you are all training hard and keeping well. For those of you on my Facebook friends list, I will post something on there when babba Rogers arrives.
Lots of love
Wendy

Picture Purrrfect
Hi all, Roly here again,
I thought I'd catch up with all my fans out there in Realbuzz Land.
My mommy has recently bought a new camera. She says it's to take pictures of her baby. She can only mean me. I thought I would share the ones she took of me. Some of them are not very glamorous poses, but I reckon I still look sizzlin' in them. I'm a good lookin' cat after all.
Here's me on my favourite footstool:
Why couldn't she have waited until I'd finished my yawn!!!!!!!
Did you say tuna???
Mommy says she can't believe she has a bigger belly than me at the moment!!
I will have to think of some more cute poses to keep her amused. It's weird, she used to call me her baby and now she's started calling me her furry baby! When anyone finds out how to work out humans, can they let me know please?
She has also stuck a load of animal pictures on one of the bedroom walls. There's a smiling crocodile who looks straight at me when I walk in the room now - very unnerving.
Oh well, it's time for my wander around the garden to see how many mice I can scare.
Speak to you all soon maybe.
Love Roly

Cage Fighting Baby
Hi,
I am feeling much better from my nasty chesty infection now. However, I have sore ribs. I'm not sure if it's with all the coughing, or with my darling baby kicking me to tell me to stop coughing
I think he's training to be a cage fighter and he is trying out some moves on my rib cage - boom boom!
I've been going to ante natal classes for a couple of weeks now with hubby. We have really enjoyed them, due to having a comedy midwife taking them. She certainly livens it up. They have almost completely rebuilt the hospital I will be having the baby in. Although I live in Liverpool, my nearest hospital is close to St Helens, Whiston Hospital. They have opened a brand new maternity wing this weekend and it's state of the art, apparently. I didn't fancy going to the alternative hospital in Liverpool (where Rooney's baby was born).
I haven't done much lately, apart from organising bits and pieces for the baby. I bought some huge animal safari stickers for the nursery walls, so I'm looking forward to seeing them up and seeing his little face when he sees them.
Before I go, I would like to wish Sally (Hola) a very happy birthday today and to thank her for her very reassuring professional mum to mum-to-be messages she sent me last week. Thanks Sally, they were a big help. Sadly, I have no mum to turn to about pregnancy issues, but I am very lucky to be surrounded by lovely women who have collectively been a mum to me over the past months.
Hope you all have a lovely week and enjoy the fab weather.
Lots of love
Wendy

Squashed Lungs
Hi,
Nothing exciting to report, I'm afraid.
I've been reading your blogs with envy. I miss running so much. I wanted to watch the Liverpool Half Marathon yesterday, but I have been suffering from a bad chest infection since last Wednesday.
I had a bit of a do last Wednesday night. The babba is making me breathless at the moment, as he's squashing my insides to make way for his, apparently, long legs (he's gonna be a runner!!) At one point, I felt I couldn't breathe properly and it frightened me. I went into a bit of a panic and hubby ended up calling NHS Direct, who helped calm me down. I was also getting upset, as I was coughing so hard I was being sick in the middle of it ... ewww!!! I was worried the baby would be getting flung everywhere and was being hurt by my actions. However, he seems to be made of stern stuff and continued to merrily wriggle away again, once I had calmed down

It's not long now, only 8 weeks until I meet my lovely little chap. I can't wait to make him as daft as me and show him great things and have amazing experiences with him. I've already got him earmarked for this year's Santa Dash - although, it will have to be more of a buggy walk than a dash!! I just hope he wont be too spooked by 8000 Santas surrounding him!!
I miss running and can't wait to start again and shed my flabby bits. I've put on about 2.5 stone since being pregnant and have a couple of cuddly chins now, but I know I can lose it - I'm hoping about a third of it will be baby related and will be lost at the birth!!! There will be lots of long walks to take babba on and the weather should be better by then - too. Although I don't think I will be getting the hotpants out just yet!!! (I don't really own hotpants ... that would be very scarey ... for me and the general public!!)
Have a good week
Wendy
