Flew with a captain the other day who told me the story how he and five or six others ran London a few years back for a colleague who had been disabled in a mountain bike accident. Skipper said he got injured in his feet and had to drag himself across the finishing line after 4:50 with the help of heavy pain killers. But they raised 30,000!!
On the turnaround I was peeling myself out of my seat to take the applause for another dreamy greaser landing and - pang - something snapped in my lower back.
That's why I have been resting until today now. But I might just get a warming pad and some ibus and hit the road again today later.
