New travel plans
Apr18201011:49 a.m.
As a Geography teacher I am usually very appreciative of tectonic events that make the news, especially at the moment when I am actually teaching about volcanoes and earthquakes, but having stressed yesterday about being able to fly next Saturday, i finally bit the bullet this morning and booked a boat from Dublin to Holyhead at a whopping £350! Add on the fuel for the car from Belfast to Dublin and then onto London, I estimate this diversion will cost £450. Please please please Mr Volcano, stop! If flights are back on by Thursday I could cancel my sailing and get 75% back, but then there is the worry that it will all start over again.
To all those who have trained and trained and trained and trained for so long and now find themselves far further away than I am and face the situation where they won't actually be able to make it, i feel so bad for you and I hope that this clears up before things are ruined for you.
