First 10k!

Decided yesterday that i wanted to try a 10k. I know it's early on in the training (3 weeks) but i wanted to get the miles under my belt as a real motivation to keep going.
The route is hilly which is good i suppose, means running on the flat seems easier.
I ran the whole way. No walking or stopping and even those hills and long drags couldn't stop me! We finished in 61 minutes which i am delighted with.
Had a cramp in my left calf at one point which was very painful, but so adverse effects this morning.
If i do a 10k once a week, i should be in fine form for the Great North 10k in July.

Alaistair 'You should be very pleased with that, 61 mins with hills on a training run is a good effort. I would certainly include a weekly run like this on a regular basis!' added 27th Apr 2011
