Well, with only four weeks one day to go until I take on the French in Paris, I decided I need to focus.  "Seems a little bit late" I hear you all saying, but do not panic Mr Mannering (who is he anyway?!)  I have not actually had a week off running since well before starting training for the London Marathon last year and I have been following a plan since January, so I think I am on target.

Well, perhaps a LSR or two behind where I should be due to me gallivanting across the globe to Canada skiing a week ago, but I even found a treadmill in the hotel I will have you know! :-)

So, back off my holidays and I know this final month is crucial.  I need to get a good 20 miler in tomorrow and then I will feel confident that I am on track.  My longest run just before holiday was 16 miles, which was a slight challenge towards the end due to the hip muscles on my right side giving me trouble over the last few months.  Even with the hip problem I have been averaging 30-35 miles a week, so I think I have been doing OK.

So, remembering how good everyone was on here last year and how much motivation and guidance I received by interacting with fellow runners, I am here to make sure I keep to my training plan as I know I will need to write about it each day!

Call it a kick up the backside to myself and I am keeping my fingers crossed it works - I will report back tomorrow!

Good luck with all your LSR's tomorrow :-)
