2012 the year when I get back running
Jan01201211:25 p.m.
2011 involved no running at all due to various knee operations. I had the second part of my maci operation on the 21st November which was so much more painful that I had expected. I am still on strong painkillers and have been having weekly physio.
At the moment I am not able to put weight on it so I am on crutches. For the last week I have been able to go on the exercise bike and have built up to do 10mins but with no resistance at all.
Tomorrow marks 6 weeks which means when I see the physio on thursday she will give me some extra exercises and I might beable to put some weight on it. Managed to get on the bathroom scales this morning, the first time since before my operation and I am actually 4lb lighter - HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?
2012 is going to be the year I get back to running, it will just take a lot to get there. The recovery schedule from the physio says 6 months light running on a treadmill, can't wait!

philk '4lb? That's because you didn't take the crutches on the scales with you! Good luck Cath, I know it's been a long long and sometimes painful road for you but you have kept at it, been positive (most of the time) and it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel. YOU CAN DO IT! We all know you want to. ' added 2nd Jan 2012
