    Hi all

    What a great day the marathon turned out to be! Seems like forever away now though!! And due to the post-marathon buzz where I thought I was invincible, I entered myself into a local half marathon for the beginning of June. I managed to run the week after the marathon, only a couple of miles but legs felt really good. The next week I went to the gym twice to run, again only a couple of miles and then I got a cold and haven't been running for two weeks!  How quickly does your level of fitness drop right down?!!! Now, hands up if you think I can do this half marathon in 3 weeks???!!!!! Me myself I am doubting it, but I have a cunning plan my lord . . . if I can do a long run next week of 6-8miles then the next week try to get up to 8-10 for my long run then hopefully I should be ok for the half marathon the next week. Does this sound possible??? Only one way to find out I guess. I was tempted just to not turn up for the half but I got my chip through the door yesterday and the stubborn streak in me wont give it up. I wonder if I dont even try, will I be wondering if I could of??? The only down fall is that, as its local, I could see a lot of faces I know & if im knackered and doing really crap there will be lots of people to witness it! One thing that might help me is our shower has broken & it'll take about a week to get it fixed which means (lightbulb moment!) if I went to the gym, I could get some running done and then use the showers there, sorted!

    It'll be interesting to see how this week goes . . . .
