Four, she's a jolly good....whatever

Quick four mile run tonight. Well...4.85 or something according to my route planner. Fab. Always nice to do more than I meant to - let's call it 5 miles or something.
Not too bad, felt ok throughout although I shouldn't have eaten half a banana before I headed out. It hung around in my stomach like a stone and made me feel grumpy, but other than that...good run. Knowing a 5 mile run is just a nice little easy thing to do of an evening amuses me because when I look back to the very first of my Real Buzz blogs and how difficult I found getting up to 3 miles, and now...3 miles isn't enough for my body to settle into the rhythm of it all. It's a bit mad, really.
I need to keep perspective, I have come so far (metaphorically) where my running is concerned, and I think knowing I have done this off my own back, without a running buddy all the time (occasional running buddies are not counted in this!) and having had to motivate myself, I'd say I was probably doing pretty well. So, my awful run from last week is put behind me and I am facing a huge 19 on Saturday which...well...let's hope it's better.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Way_Too_Slow 'Good to hear you being more confident today. Do you really need a banana before a 5 mile run?? A highly trained athlete like you shouldn't need it for such a tiny run!! ;0) 19 miles IS a long way so don't run that far! Run 5 miles (a mere midweek run), then another 5, then 3 miles (hardly worth getting changed for), then another 3 (you're just getting warmed up), and a final 3 (anyone can run 3 miles can't they???) You'll be back home before you know it!!! Have a great run, use it to practice your VLM refuelling strategy.' added 16th Mar 2011
