Onwards and upwards...
Nov28201010 a.m.
I haven't been posting on here for ages. I have been working out in the gym, doing resistance training and running on the treadmill, to hopefully ensure that my tendonitis doesn't return. And I hope it doesn't...
I got a phonecall from Pancreatic Cancer UK to say they were giving me a place to run for them in the Virgin London Marathon 2011. Yes, really.
I contacted them initially when I went into the ballot. I didn't get a place so I assumed that was it...Fate had decided for me. Or had it? The email with their news that they had a few extra spaces made me wonder. I sent off my application within 15 minutes of them emailing me, and I got their call at 10am the next day.
I will be setting up a separate Marathon training blog on here so you can follow my progress. I am scared and terrified and excited and overwhelmed by the enormity of the task ahead of me. I know someone, a friend of mine from primary school, who died in August from pancreatic cancer, so if anything knowing that I am doing something for someone like this will help me get around that course.
So there you go! Sorry for being so quiet. Here's hoping I can do this.
xx

Morning has broken me.
Why is it that morning runs feel like the worst possible runs. You're sleepy. Your body really dislikes being out of that exceptionally warm bed, especially at...
