Having finally got back into running I seem to have done too much too soon and ended up with a very painful hamstring injury last week. The good news is that my physio thinks that I should be better by marathon day as long as I am careful now and follow her strict instructions. I've got a lot of stretching and very slow running (shuffling) to do over the next 10 days. Oh and of course there are lots of ice packs to be applied too. Let's hope I won't have to run in as much pain as I was in on Saturday. Any hope of a respectable time has been abandoned but maybe that is a good thing. I now have the perfect excuse to go really slowly and enjoy the atmosphere on the day. Making it to the start line and getting round the course has to be priority now. After all, I can't let all my sponsors down! Can't wait to get there!
